I've been Living in Cebu - its OK but lacking in details. Might be worth .99 cents - not sure what I paid (I'd have to go look).

It's so lacking in detail, it's practically worthless. This "massive" 26 page guide book has little information and no details. He lets you know how to get a cab from the Cebu airport (Mactan), and lets you know a couple of areas where bars and girls may be found. Mostly, he only mentions things that fit what he likes to do. He does not do any research into anything that might interest a reader, but not him personally. He asked a price of $4.99. He has other 26 page books about other cities at the same $4.99 each, and if you combined 5 of them together, they would not be worth $4.99 combined. One of the laziest writers I've encountered on Amazon. When discussing the personality and culture of the filipino, he seems to do a cut and paste with other of his 26 page books. I guess with a full 26 pages to fill, he has to take some shortcuts. If your planning your first trip to Cebu, this isn't the guide book for you. You need more details, about how everything works. His advise is not good either. He advises not groping the girls in the bars. He prefers just a friendly stroke on the arm or leg, and give her high-fives. What's the fixation with high-fives? He sure mentions them a lot. I found the girls encourage groping, hoping for a nice tip. Go and have fun, but you don't need anything this basic to guide you. He lives there. You would think he would do a little more research when writing a book.

I had never heard of Mallory Factor before coming across this book. People said so many good things about it last month that I felt the need to read it myself. I wasn't disappointed, not in the least. In 2010, I read a work that compared the actions of Soviet Union era apparatchniks to those of the union leaders here in the United States, and Shadowbosses is a fine conceptual companion piece for that book. Indeed, its far more expansive and thorough.The theme of the authors is that the union hierarchs (SEIU, NEA, UAW, AFL-CIO, etc) run leftist politicians today--not the other way around. They call the shots and drive the Democrats agenda. Never was this more evident than over the summer when the DNC turned to the unions to make up for the deficits they had in their funding: No unions, no convention. The unions made it happen. Factor wrote this book before that particular event, but hundreds of others are covered in these pages.Factor illustrates that when politicians don't do what the union wants--as Blanche Lincoln didn't in 2010--the unions back someone else and that candidate loses in the Democratic Party primary...which is precisely what happened to Lincoln. The behaviors of private sector unions are not our collective business, and if they succeed in breaking an industry there is not much we can do about it. The public sector unions are another matter altogether. We, the taxpayers, pay them, and often we pay them far more than we make ourselves. It's a complete scandal.There is no better statistic in this book than the one revealing that nearly 500,000 federal bureaucrats make over 100k a year in salary. That's outrageous. They're not public servants, but rather, public scammers. There's no reason to overpay them as they steal liberty from us, and any president who was serious about solving the budget crisis would lower the maximum federal wage to $74,000. This would allow all the lawyers and overlords we currently possess in the federocracy to "scratch buy" on a wage that's still far higher than most of us make.Overall, this book is outstanding. It's erudite and an inspiration. We, the people, are the ones who should run the country...not the Shadowbosses. Let's put some light on them, and free ourselves in the process.

This book exposes the control they have over the the political processes of our government, government policy and the damage they are causing. Reading this book is an eye opening experience. Shadowbosses should be a must-read for very conservative out there and every American that cares about our future.

Awesome read! I love to learn when I read non-fiction. This book was a real eye-opener. I was raised in a union household and I am still pro-union. This book was full of information that all need to know, especially union members. They are being screwed over big-time by union management and they don't even know it. Politicians are under the thumbs of union management and we are all paying the price. I recommend everyone buy this book before the next election.

It helped me to understand just what unions are about. I have always been for the unions, but it has left the people and just doingwhat it takes to wield power which also includes money. They pretty much spend as the upper boys and girls see fit. It will take thepeople to put them back in their place.Their pockets fit nicely in the democrats pockets.

This is a timely description of a problem in governance which can no longer be ignored. In an era when politicians' at every level are kicking financial cans down the road into our children's future, the inconvenient truth that unionized government employees enjoy compensation, benefits, privileges, and job security far in excess of comparable jobs held by taxpayers presents an unsustainable problem. Having lived through hyper-inflation in Argentina and other Southern Cone countries during the 1970s and early 1980s, I have seen where this problem of unaffordable government leads. The author exposes the emerging, largely unavoidable and widespread government bankruptcies, including the federal. The author makes clear how our constitutional government has been corrupted by the vicious circle of government employees circumventing the Hatch Act's prohibitions on their striking and political involvement to elect politicians who will return the favor by continuing the lavish compensation and work rules. The author also exposes the fact that public employees have found union leaders willing to exploit this corruption of constitutional self-governance.

Great DVD's - very clear - best I have found for learning Spanish!

arrived timely and in good shape like new, cd quality is excellent, easy to listen to repeatedly.

The item was shipped quicker than it was expected, which was great. I like this audio series so that I can learn in my car. It takes a longer to learn that way, but I don't have time to sit in front of a computer. I've tried some other audio lessons, but I like Instant Immersion best. They really need a lesson between the beginner and the advanced series though.

I have listened to all 8 CD's about 5 times and while you do learn the basics the company should have provided a well thought out work book, it would have made this course so much easier to get through. The main female instructor, whose first language is English, is easy to understand and presents the lessons well. She is a definite plus. One of the courses weak points though are the conversations between various speakers at the end of each lesson. I found myself constantly searching my spanish/english dictionary to try to find the word or phrase they were using. I had to listen to one particular conversation(two women going to the museum and restaurant)literally about 40 times before I figured out all the words they were using, many of which were not covered at all in the lessons!! One of the women in this conversation was a native spanish speaker who talked way too fast and didn't annunciate her words. It's like why did they pick her for a beginners course? Also for the first half of the course they spell out new words being used, in the second half they don't, which is, like this course overall, a bit frustrating.

I am very disappointed with this language program. This CD gives you very little chance to practice phrases and vocabulary (as opposed to most language programs that have you listen and repeat over and over). Plus, the exact pronunciations are difficult to hear making it impossible to develop any confidence in your speaking abilities. With so many language programs available, I would never recommend this one.

As far as pure audio sets go this one is excellent. Most language CD's/tapes ask you to parrot their material, expecting you to figure out the grammer rules some other time. This does both, so you can build sentences beyond the practice phrases. The spanish is "high" Spanish. It is articulate and given at three speeds- slow, medium, then conversational.

This audio immerses you too fast. Each CD adds words and conjugations in no particular order. It's very confusing to someone who has no background in Spanish. The words are very hard to understand without seeing the spellings. I can't even understand the words I do know in Spanish. S and F sound too much the same. They should only do this if they include video. Sound is not enough for a beginner.

Dear Dr. Block, this book bundle was one of the best. I would like to start by saying that this was super cheap for three minecraft books. Everything else about this was worth it, too. I really liked this epic book bundle beacause all three books were super fun to read. The first one was my favorite, obviously. Creeptastic was a heartwarming story about a creeper trying to save Steve's life. This story was like a dramaish story, wich I definitely enjoyed. The second was more of an action story, with "Swirly" with his friend Josh or something trying to help Domino the skeleton horse. The most action in this one is when Quick is trying to escape with Swirly and Josh or something. That was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last story was more of a mystery, with Steve as a werewolf but not knowing it. The best part of this was the part when Herobrine and his montrous wolf came along and told Steve that he was his slave. The problem is resolved when the villagers build a dungeon for Steve to be in every full moon. This bundle was the best because of all the different aspects of each book. Drama, action, and mystery. That is the main reason, and the side reason is how awesome the books really are. Keep on making more awesome books! What I really like about this particular book is that I can take the knowledge I gained throughout the book and create programs that are practical and useful in my craft as a GIS professional.

With the number of applications that require some type of mapping or geoprocessing, this book is very relevant in today's app development. Personally, I really benefited in my day job from this book that had very good examples and clear explanations of the concepts allowing me to come up with clean design and make things easy. I would definitely recommend this book if you need to do any type of geoprocessing even if you are not using python. Concepts are well explained and can be applied to other languages.
